During their regularly scheduled meeting held on Monday February 28th, the Everett School Committee voted to lift the mask mandate in accordance with updated guidance from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Beginning on Tuesday, March 1st, the use of face coverings will be optional in all EPS schools, at all grade levels.
Students and staff who feel safer and more comfortable wearing masks should continue to do so. We encourage everyone to do what they feel is safest for their students and families, and we implore everyone to respect the decisions of others.
The district will continue to monitor COVID-19 data and recommend any changes to our rules if the need arises. We thank you for your patience, cooperation, and commitment to keeping our students and staff safe.
