Everett High School Families,

We hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

This is the final week of school before Winter Vacation. Friday, December 19, 2025, is a half-day of school. Students will be dismissed at 11:00am on Friday, December 19, 2025.

Winter Vacation is from December 22, 2025, to January 02, 2026. Students return to school after Winter Vacation on January 05, 2026.
We hope everyone has a happy, healthy, and restful Winter Vacation.

There are several events at Everett High School this week. Please see the Important Dates of the Week section at the bottom of this message.

The second academic quarter ends on January 30, 2025.

Assembly for Grade 9 Students (Monday, December 15, 2025)
We will be hosting an assembly for Grade 9 students on Monday, December 15, during their MyCAP period.

Author Dennis Wise will present it. The Theft of Dignity is an engaging presentation that raises awareness among teens about the impact of peer bullying.

Dennis draws on examples from popular culture, including movies, TV shows, and novels such as his own book, On Your Side. The goal is to educate teens about the dangers of bullying and harassment and encourage a more respectful and inclusive environment.

Please email Ms DiNatale if you have any questions or if you would not like your student to attend the assembly on Monday.

School Council

Please complete the form below if you are interested in joining the School Council for Everett High School. If there is a lot of interest in joining the council, we will conduct a vote for each specific category of membership: Parents (Caretakers), Teachers (Educators),Students and Community Members. All voting information will be communicated to the School-community.
A school council is a representative, school-building-based committee composed of the principal, parents, teachers, students, and community members are required to be established by each school pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 71, Section 59C.The school council supports reviewing the school improvement plan, school budgets, as well as the policies at the school-level.

Bathroom Procedures

At Everett High School, the bathrooms are locked during the first and last 7 minutes of each class. Outside of these times, they remain unlocked and accessible. If a student needs to use the bathroom during those locked periods, the student can either:

Ask their classroom teacher to contact a school administrator to unlock it.
Ask for assistance from a staff member near the bathroom to unlock it.

While this is a new procedure for Everett High School, it is a common practice in many high schools. The bathrooms on the first floor are open throughout the day. We value your support in maintaining consistent procedures at Everett High School.

Attendance Updates

Everett High School will be eliminating the policy that assigns an E grade to students after a certain number of absences. Instead, we will implement a new policy emphasizing regular outreach to maintain consistent daily attendance. Attendance will continue to impact a student’s eligibility for summer school. Please see the updated attendance protocol below. These documents will be added to each weekly email.

Student Expectations

Personal Device Laptops and Computers

Students are encouraged not to bring personal laptops or computers to school, as every student should have a Chromebook. The school-issued Chromebook provides direct access to all necessary educational applications. If a student does not have a Chromebook, the student should contact their homeroom teacher. The technology department is located at Everett High School and can assist with any issues.
