Everett High School Families:

We hope everyone is having a great weekend.

This is the second week of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15, 2025, to October 15, 2025). As a school community, we honor the contributions, both past and present, of Hispanic Americans for their profound and positive influence on our daily lives. We continue to honor famous members of the Hispanic community each morning at EHS.

We look forward to welcoming students back to school tomorrow for a full week of school.

Students received their IDs this past week. IDs must be worn by all students throughout the day at EHS.

The doors to the school open at 7:30am each day for breakfast in the cafeteria. Students go to their homerooms at 7:45am. Homeroom begins right at 8:00am. It is important for all students to be on time for school each day.

As a reminder, the first Parent-Teacher Conference is Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

Helping Hands at Work Afterschool Club (HHW)

Helping Hands at Work (HHW) is an after-school club where students can learn about health topics, connect with other teens, earn community service hours, and organize an end-of-year health fair. The meetings are held every Tuesday, starting September 23rd, at 2:45pm in Room 5520. The club always has snacks.

Student Expectations

Attendance Updates

Everett High School will be eliminating the policy that assigns an E grade to students after a certain number of absences. Instead, we will implement a new policy emphasizing regular outreach to maintain consistent daily attendance. Attendance will continue to impact a student’s eligibility for summer school. Please see the updated attendance protocol below. These documents will be added to each weekly email.

Personal Device Laptops and Computers

Students are encouraged not to bring personal laptops or computers to school, as every student should have a Chromebook. The school-issued Chromebook provides direct access to all necessary educational applications. If a student does not have a Chromebook, the student should contact their homeroom teacher. The technology department is located at Everett High School and can assist with any issues.

Bathroom Procedures

At Everett High School, the bathrooms are locked during the first and last 10 minutes of each class. Outside of these times, they remain unlocked and accessible.

If a student needs to use the bathroom during those locked periods, the student can either:

Ask their classroom teacher to contact a school administrator to unlock it.
Ask for assistance from a staff member near the bathroom to unlock it.

While this is a new procedure for Everett High School, it is a common practice in many high schools.

The bathrooms on the first floor are open throughout the day.
