Welcome Letter

Dear Everett High School Community,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! We are excited to partner with you to accelerate learning and support every student’s success. Last year, we saw growth across several academic areas and in daily attendance. We look forward to continuing this progress. When students return, they will have opportunities to explore various sports, clubs, and extracurricular activities. We encourage all students to get involved. There is something for everyone! This year, I will continue to send weekly updates each Sunday afternoon to keep families and students informed about important events and news.

Everett High School is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment that empowers students to become lifelong learners. Through our partnership with Springpoint and the Barr Foundation, we have developed an Instructional Vision that we will be implementing schoolwide starting this upcoming school year. The creation of the Instructional Vision was a year-long process that incorporated feedback from multiple teams, including staff, students, and families. Starting this year and going forward, our commitment is to create the conditions, structures, and learning experiences to successfully implement the Instructional Vision.

Instructional Vision:
At Everett High School, we believe all students are capable of deep thinking, meaningful participation, and high levels of achievement when classrooms are intentionally designed to support and challenge them. This instructional vision reflects our shared commitment to learning experiences grounded in rigor, relevance,  purpose, academic discourse, cognitive engagement, belonging, and feedback that moves learning forward. Across classrooms, these pillars create the conditions for students to take intellectual risks, make sense of complex ideas, see themselves reflected in their learning, and build confidence in their voice and abilities. This vision serves as a shared framework for instruction, collaboration, coaching, and continuous improvement across Everett High School.

The first day of school is Wednesday, September 2, 2026. This will be a full day of school for students in Grades 9-12. On the first day, Grade 9 students will meet their homeroom teachers on the field outside the school, where teachers will have signs to help students find their homerooms. The homeroom period will be extended to help students get familiar with their schedules and the school. Students in Grades 10-12 will go directly to their homerooms at 7:45 a.m. On the first day of school, we will review updates in tardy, attendance, and cellphone procedures with students. We will also send these updates to students and families before the start of the school year.

Student schedules will be available on Aspen on Thursday, August 27, 2026. Students should check their email for directions on adding or dropping courses. The deadline to submit the Add/Drop form is September 04, 2026. A form with instructions to reset student email passwords (if needed) was also emailed to students and families. Lastly, homeroom assignments for students in grade 9 will be sent to students’ email accounts before the start of the school year. Please email our Director of Guidance, Ms. Naumann, if you have any questions or need any support with the scheduling process at Everett High School.

Paper copies of student schedules will be provided to students on their first day of school in their homeroom. The first week’s schedule and the regular rotation schedule are posted below and will be reviewed with students during the opening days. We look forward to welcoming students in grades 9–12 on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, for a full day of school. Please note that there will be no school from Friday, September 4, through Tuesday, September 8. School resumes for all students on Wednesday, September 9. The school doors open at 7:30 a.m. each morning for breakfast. Students move to their homeroom at 7:45 a.m. each morning. Students should be in their homeroom by 8:00 a.m. each morning. Students entering the school or entering homeroom at 8:01 a.m. will be marked tardy. Being on time and present is an essential part of the learning process at Everett High School.

Below is the schedule for the first week of school and the scheduling rotation. The daily 30-minute intervention period will continue. On Mondays, students will return to their homerooms for career and college exploration activities. Tuesday through Friday, students will attend academic interventions to support their progress within their courses. At right are the email addresses of the Everett High School leadership team. Thank you for your continued support and partnership!

Best wishes,
Dr. Braga
