General Scholarships
1. Angelo & "Buddy" DiMott Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is in honor of Angelo and Buddy DiMott for a student-athlete.

2. Daniel Joseph Hanlon Memorial Scholarship

3. Elizabeth McNeil Scholarship Fund
Criteria:
  • Resident of Everett for at least 2 years
  • Must graduate from Everett High SchoolMust be continuing your education at a recognized College or Junior/Community College    
 
4. Fox Translation Services Scholarship

Criteria: English Language Student 
NOTE: Nominations are submitted by teachers

5. Frank J. Mayo Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to two deserving senior boys. Frank always loved kids, and valued education as a stepping stone to success but mostly to a better life. He would be very proud of his Scholarship recipients, and of their achievements throughout their years at Everett High School.

  • Grades (B= average or better)
  • Extracurricular Activities
  • Community Service/Volunteerism 

*If Scholarship Night is in person, the recipient must be present to accept the scholarship.


6. Jean Mayo Harrington Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to two deserving senior girls. Jean believes in "giving back" especially to her deserving Scholarship recipients.  Be proud of your accomplishments, and hard work throughout your 12 years.  And remember, when success follows in your life, you will be standing here "giving back" too!

7. ITAM - Salvatore and Grace Rocco Memorial Scholarship
Salvatore and Grace Rocco were proud Italian Americans who had extended family in the community of Everett which they loved. In addition to serving the bereaved with the founding of their funeral home in 1927 - almost one hundred years ago - they led many philanthropic efforts that stand today. They were benefactors of the Whidden Hospital and St. Anthony church - institutions which continue to serve our diverse community. Scholarship recipients are encouraged to continue to share their success with others, which is the legacy of Salvatore and Grace Rocco.

9. Robert Carreiro Memorial Scholarship
Robert (Bob ) Carreiro spent the better part of his life supporting the Everett education system. Early in his career he was a Special Education teacher and President of the Everett’s Teachers Association.  More recently, he served as a member of the Everett School Committee for over fourteen years. Mr. Carreiro had great respect for the Everett education system and was especially proud of its students. Before his passing in 2017, Mr. Carreiro laid the groundwork for the Robert Carreiro Memorial Scholarship fund that annually awards scholarships to three deserving EHS seniors that are intent on pursuing a college degree.

Criteria:
  • The student must have attended the George G.Hamilton/ Keverian School for at least 3 years
  • The student should have studied and tried as hard as he or she could with aspirations of earning a good living
  • The student should be in need of monetary aid to enter college or a vocational school to pursue a vocation
  • Two recipients of this scholarship will be chosen yearly by members of the Guidance Department of Everett High School and Vocational Division
  • Applicants for this scholarship must be members of good standing in their community and well respected by their peers and teachers

Kiwanis Club Scholarships
The Kiwanis Club of Everett has been serving the children of Everett since 1925 and is proud to continue supporting EHS graduates through several scholarships that are open to members of the EHS Class of '23! Students only need to complete the application once and will be submitted for all scholarships for which they qualify. Copies are available in guidance and should be returned to guidance no later than April 5, 2023. Do not submit electronically.
 
  • Kiwanis Club of Everett Award

  • Kiwanis Club of Everett Dr. Sidney S. Listernick Scholarship Award: This scholarship is in honor of Dr. Sidney Listernick who was the school doctor for the Everett Public Schools.
  • Kiwanis Club of Everett Frank E. Woodward Scholarship Award: This scholarship is in honor of Frank E. Woodward who was the present of the old Everett Savings Bank.

Ersilla Cataldo Matarazzo Scholarships
The following scholarships honor of Ersilla Cataldo Matarazzo. Ersilla was unwavering in her service to the Everett community and resolute in her efforts to help those in need:

  • Student must continue studies as a Freshman at a Post-Secondary Degree Granting Institution.

    Character Reference. This can be from a coach, religious leader, dance teacher, work supervisor, scoutmaster, etc. (Form attached)
    Typed essay detailing the ways you’ve achieved academic excellence in the face of challenges/adversity and how this scholarship will help you continue your academic endeavors post-graduation. Our intention is to provide deserving student(s) who plan to and will execute excellence in their post High School career.

Everett High School Class of 1970 Scholarship Legacy Fund provides one $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior of Everett High School. Criteria:
The awardee must have attended EHS for at least 18 months, earned a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5, participated in ongoing community service and extracurricular activities, and been accepted to an accredited two- or four- year college/university or technical/vocational school.  Preference will be given to applicants who are: 
  • Descendants of the EHS Class of 1970, 
  • First Generation College Students, 
  • Children of deceased or living first responders, or military service members, and/or, 
  • Have significant financial need
Receipt of the award may be deferred for up to 18 months by a student participating in full-time community service, military service, religious mission or discernment.

The Everett Police Betterment provides a scholarship to graduating students who are looking to pursue a career in police work, corrections or other criminal justice fields.

The Everett Teachers Association is the educators union for teachers, paraprofessionals, administrative assistants and administrators in Everett Public Schools. We give a limited number of scholarships every year to EHS seniors who have a parent/guardian working in EPS or are planning to study education in college.
Criteria:
  • Open to all EHS seniors
  • Priority given to children/dependents of EPS employees and students pursuing a degree in education

The Everett Custodians are a union representing all of the custodians in Everett Public Schools. We give a limited number of scholarships every year to EHS seniors who have a parent/guardian working in EPS as a custodian.

Criteria:
  • Open to all EHS seniors

To preserve the memory of Speaker George Keverian by supporting the work of individuals who strive to create positive change by helping:

Criteria:
  • Must be a 2023 graduate of Everett High School
  • Be in need of financial aid
  • Be of high moral and ethical character
  • Posses a GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Be a US citizen OR must possess appropriate Visa status in order to study in the US
  • Be accepted to a full time accredited undergraduate college or university in the US by April 2023
  • Recipient of this scholarship must commit to being available to attend the Armenian Genocide Memorial ceremony at the State House, which is scheduled for April 21, 2023

The Italian American Association of Everett is proud to offer several scholarships to Everett High School seniors.

Criteria: Applicant should be studying business or education.

Joseph Cardello was a lifelong resident of Everett, a graduate of Everett High School, and an employee of the City of Everett as a Board of Health Inspector. He also served on the Everett Common Council. In addition, Joseph was one of the initial members of the Everett Youth League Board of Directors. He was also active in helping the needy. He did a lot of good will for others.

The application must be completed on paper, copies are available in guidance. All applications must be postmarked no later than Monday, April 3, 2023. Return to the guidance office on April 3, 2023 or mail to: 171 Belmont St. Everett, MA 02149.

Rules of Eligibility:
  • Applicants must be a member of MPCU, or a member’s dependent.
  • Applicants must be accepted or enrolled in a full-time, accredited 2 or 4-year school of higher learning.
  • A completed application is required (Applications are available at all MPCU branch locations or online).
  • One entry per student.
  • No director or employees of the Credit Union or their dependents are eligible.
  • One scholarship award per family per year.
  • Funds will be awarded to the member or their dependent.

Open to students who attended the Lafayette School.
Criteria:
  • Students must possess a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Students must be in the process of applying to a two- or four-year college or university
  • Students who are applying to community colleges or technical schools will receive first consideration
  • Students must attach a copy of their transcript to this application

Everett High School Senior planning a career in education


The Marie and Victor DeRubeis Scholarship is to be awarded to an Everett High School senior.  The scholarship has been established by family and friends to honor the couple's years of teaching in Everett.  Mrs. Marie (Ford) DeRubeis taught at Everett High from 1936 to 1945.  Mr. DeRubeis taught there from 1937 to 1979.  The annual scholarship of $ 500.00 will be awarded to an Everett High School senior planning a career in education.

Mayor's Future Community Leadership ScholarshipMayor Carlo DeMaria is pleased to offer this scholarship opportunity to two (2) graduating seniors from the Everett High School Class of 2023. The recipients will each receive a one-time award of $500.00. The recipients must be attending a 2-year or a 4-year college or university with a focus in government studies or political science.

To be eligible must have a relative who graduated from Everett High School or the Everett Vocational High School in June of 1978. The application, which is available in the Guidance Office, is due no later than April 14, 2023.

Criteria: Attended the Parlin School

Criteria:
  • A graduating senior who had been a resident of Everett for their 4 years at Everett High School
  • Have a family member (parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle) who was or is in the Military
  • Write a one page essay explaining how your family member that was in the Military has impacted your life

The Societa Santa Maria Di Anzano Scholarship purpose is to enable and encourage students to pursue higher education. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in Italian culture, language,  and/or community.  This year the Society is offering scholarships to help defray the increasing expenses of a college education. 

Criteria:

  • Attend the Award Ceremony on June 4, 2023
  • College bound seniors
  • Have or intend to include in their educational studies interest in Italian language, history, or culture and/or interest in community, academic, sports, and/or social activities. 

This application is available in paper form in the guidance office. It is due no later than May 1, 2023. 

The Stern Family Charitable Trust was developed to provide resources for people who have encountered adversity and to assist in opening a path toward success.  Our grants and scholarships are focused on causes that, not only have touched our lives, but can make a meaningful immediate and direct impact on individuals and/or their communities.  Our mission is to lend a hand to those whose circumstances have not provided a level playing field of opportunities for success.

Our awards encompass assistance in the form of educational scholarships, as well as individual hardship assistance and targeted community giving.  Our goal is that every dollar goes directly to support our recipients in their journey toward opportunity and success.
